artykul 1: "Odlacz sie"
i traktuje o koniecznosci nabrania dystansu do swojej pracy, nawet jesli jestesmy samozatrudnieni, i nieprzedkladaniu pracy nad zyciem osobistym i rodzinnym.
In an effort to run your business the best way possible, have you turned into one of those people? The one who finds it completely acceptable to stop a friend mid-sentence to respond to a text message or who misses his daughter’s soccer game because he had to keep his twitter account replete with updated content?
If you are, you certainly are not alone- technology addiction has become commonplace (and even expected) in our world. Steven King recently wrote of his own technology addiction in a recent Entertainment Weekly article. In it, he cites a recent Nielsen study that found that the average American adult spends 8.5 hours a day staring at one screen or another (tv, computer, iPhone, etc). Between texting, tweeting, social networking, and all of the other technology-based work done in a day, it can be hard to find time for anything else. Even though many holistic practitioners fall into the ‘high touch, low tech’ category, technology is an increasingly vital piece of doing any business, and a failure to keep boundaries can drain your time and impinge on your self-care priorities.
And what if the things you are plugged into are not technology-related? Make it a point to unplug from other, more elusive habits that might be getting in your way. Perhaps you need to step away from self-deprecating ideas that you need to be younger, wealthier, smarter, skinnier, etc. Perhaps you need to unplug from expectations that others have of you. Think about the habitual thoughts or behavior that you have that are draining you, and make a conscious decision to let them go (even for the afternoon).

czyli pozwol sobie na urlop, wypoczynek, odosobnienie, chwile bezczynnego odpoczynku - znajdz czas dla siebie, wycofaj sie od chronicznego stresu, ktory cie niszczy.
Close on the heels of tip #1, unplugging, is #2- retreating. In our culture, words like vacation, retreat, and sanctuary have almost become dirty little words. They’re the new forbidden fruit in the Garden. They smack of something luxurious, something indulgent, something only rich people do. Something selfish.
But the reality is, taking time for yourself is about the healthiest thing you can do. This is particularly true for women, who expend so much of their energy outward. If you don’t slow down, connect with your deeper self, and cultivate an ongoing relationship with yourself, you can’t ever really be with or give to anyone else. Moreover, if you constantly succumb to the endless doing and surrender to the idea that chronic stress is normal, you can quite literally make yourself ill.
A quick caveat: it’s incredibly easy to confuse the activities of self-care with actually slowing down. A massage, a yoga class, even a morning meditation can easily become just another must-do activity in your busy to-do list. Sanctuary and retreat are not physical places. They are not activities. They are not some kind of Mists-of-Avalon –fleeting-moments-of-Zen that few ever grasp. Sanctuary and retreat are a state of mind, a philosophy, and an ongoing commitment to SLOW DOWN. To LISTEN. To BE STILL. To be with the what is of life in an effort to live a more peaceful adventure.
What retreat is:
-A refuge from chronic stress
-A proven way of nurturing for your body, mind, and spirit
-A haven from self-criticism and negative thought
-A place to shut out the incessant noise of our world
-A chance to gain clarity and release destructive patterns
-A mental space to absorb the information you have taken in
-Secular, spiritual, or religious- whatever works best for you
What retreat is not:
-Escape from real life
-Self indulgent or selfish
-A superfluous self-indulgent luxury
-A nice but unnecessary way to spend 5 minutes, an hour, a day, or two weeks
-Impossible to fit in
-Elite
A retreat need not be:
-Expensive
-A physical location you have to travel to
- Secular, spiritual, or religious (but it can be any of these things-truly whatever works for you)
-With others
-Alone
In a world of perpetual Twitter and 24-hour everything, to take time to create your own sanctuary in your everyday life and to commit to ‘Radical Self Care’ is to be part of a revolutionary movement. Take the time today to redefine and recreate the retreat in your own life. You might be amazed how quickly you start to resemble yourself again.

ktore to wzmacniaja organizm i zapobiegaja chorobom zawodowym, a rowniez groznym chorobom cywilizacyjnym.
Move the Body: Exercise as part of self care
Exercise is a great part of self care for holistic practitioners. Regardless of your particular modality, chances are fairly good that your work involves a lot of physical and energetic involvement. The benefits of regular physical activity are certainly not a mystery, but many holistic practitioners allow their own busy schedules to interfere with their workouts.
Exercise is an incredibly important part of self-care for the holistic practitioner, as your own health, endurance, and vitality are cornerstones of your work.
Regular exercise can also help you prevent work-related injuries, something that many holistic practitioners are susceptible to. By keeping your circulation strong and your muscles in good condition, you build a stronger defense against repetitive motion injuries and muscle strain. Getting your body moving also helps to boost your immunity and to improve your mood (just think of all those happy endorphins let loose in your system).
And let’s not forget the relationship between lack of exercise and chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and osteoporosis.
And finally, giving your body something that it loves to do is just plain fun. If exercise isn’t something you are accustomed to and you don’t know where to start now, think back to when you were a kid. Were there particular activities that you gravitated towards? Perhaps you loved to dance, or went swimming with your friends all summer long? Di you climb trees? Play baseball? See if you can’t bring back some of that passion for movement into your life today.
There are tons of great resources out there for exercise. You might start by talking to a local personal trainer to make sure that you are doing exercises properly and not inadvertently causing damage to yourself through inappropriate technique.

artykul piaty o systematycznych zabiegach masazu dla samego siebie
nie tylko, zeby ktos nas leczyl, ale rowniez zeby podpatrzec nowe techniki. I once asked an acupuncturist client of mine how frequently he went in for acupuncture himself. “I don’t get acupuncture,” he quipped. “That stuff hurts!” Although he was trying to be clever, his comment reflects the reality of many holistic practitioners. The most common reasons I hear for lack of regular treatments are time and money. But how can you sell the value of your services and the need for consistent treatment if you aren’t willing to invest in them yourself?
If you are a massage therapist, get a regular massage. If you are an energy healer, make regular appoints with a colleague. Experiencing other practitioners that specialize in your own modality can help you to become better yourself, as you are able to experience the effects and sensations on the client side. It will also help you improve your own skill and technique, as you pick up new methods through increased exposure.
However, don’t take this to mean that you should limit yourself to one modality. By all means, get any holistic treatments that interest you. Not only will you be able to learn about new things that interest you, you will be building a wealth of resources for your clients as well. In fact, you might even develop referral partners out of the deal, and help to cross-promote one another’s business.
If you feel that money is a limitation to receiving regular work, offer to do trades with other practitioners. Bartering is a great way to experience a wide scope of techniques and to develop relationships with other healers. Most holistic therapists are happy to be share their skill, and just as happy to get some work done themselves!
